Into the Void
“Into the Void” signifies a journey or exploration into the unknown or unchartered territory. It represents venturing into spaces, experiences, or emotions where clarity is lacking, and uncertainty prevails. It could be a metaphor of stepping outside one’s comfort zone, facing fears, or embracing the mysteries that life has to offer. This phrase encapsulates the idea of delving into unexplored realms with an open mind, seeking growth, understanding, and new perspectives.”
Attempting to force oneself into the void defeats its purpose. The void is not a destination that can be a planned trip or manipulated; it is an encounter with the uncertain, the unplanned, and the unfamiliar. The void is not something to seek actively; rather; it finds us unexpectedly.
Genuine encounters with the void occur for maybe only a moment. It is a fleeting moment of vulnerability and openness that grants us permission into the vastness of the human experience.
Into the Void is how I like to think of my journey of strength training and health. In a world often fixated on aesthetics and visible accomplishments, strongman training remains a misunderstood realm of physical fitness. Many associate it solely with brute force, feats of power, and bulging muscles. Beneath the surface of these heavy lifts and extraordinary displays of strength though lies a spiritually – human – aspect that often goes unnoticed.
Strongman training transcends the mere act of lifting heavy objects. It embodies a holistic approach that unites the physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions of being a human. It empowers people to connect with their bodies. You connect and communicate with the different parts of your body, establishing a kind of bluetooth connection with them over time with focus and intention and mindfulness in your movements.
You relearn basic movements and realize it is like learning how to do these things again for the first time. You are like a kid again. There is an openness to explore and play.
Into the Void, if just for a moment.
